La asignatura Technology in the EFL classroom es una asignatura con características interdisciplinarias donde se propicia la utilización académica e innovadora de las tecnologías y sus herramientas en la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras. La materia ofrece, a los futuros docentes de inglés, los recursos y escenarios necesarios que propicien la integración de sus habilidades profesionales con los diferentes recursos tecnológicos tales como: videos, páginas webs, inteligencia artificial, aplicaciones y redes sociales; y en este marco, brindar a sus estudiantes la oportunidad de encontrarse con situaciones potenciales de práctica y creación; además, motivarles a compartir información, explorar nuevas áreas del conocimiento, ser autónomo y sobre todo construir mejores habilidades sociales.
La asignatura está organizada en dos unidades académicas:
UNIDAD I: Integrating Technology
UNIDAD II: Understanding Technology in Education
La disciplina tiene correspondencia directa y aporta a los objetivos de la planificación nacional establecidos en el Plan Nacional de Desarrollo 2021 – 2025 y tiene plena concordancia con los niveles de la planificación macro curricular, a partir de los tres ejes de la política pública: Eje 1: Derechos para todos durante toda la vida. Eje 2: Económico. Eje 3: Social. Aporta al cumplimiento del cuarto Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible: Educación de Calidad. Además, se alinea a los ejes de formación (Autonomía y Adaptabilidad, Comunicación, Inter y multidisciplinariedad, Inclusión e Interculturalidad, Tecnologías) del modelo educativo de la UNACH.

Students can decide on the usefulness of technological resources for the teaching and learning of English as a foreign language in the light of different theories, methods, and strategies considering students’ realities, needs, interests, weaknesses, and strengths.

- Learning special needs,
- Disanilities,
- Students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dysorthography,
- Students with different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Select a SEN population and cover it from theory
- Describe how they learn and the academic particularities the teacher should consider when working with them
- identify an assistive technology to support their learning
- Develop a tutorial for teaching how to use this Technology with your population
