What do you think about education in Finland?
I think the education system in Finland is truly impressive. What stands out the most to me is how much they trust their teachers and students. Teachers are highly educated and respected, and students are given the freedom to learn at their own pace.
Another important aspect is that there is less pressure on students. They don’t take as many standardized tests, and they don’t have much homework. This helps reduce stress and allows students to enjoy learning.
One change you’d make in Ecuador
If I could make one change in Ecuador’s education system based on what I learned from Finland, I would start by improving the training and status of teachers. In Finland, teachers need a master’s degree and are very well prepared ,they are trusted to make decisions in the classroom without being micromanaged.
In Ecuador, I think we need to invest more in teacher education and give teachers more autonomy and support. If we trust teachers more and give them the right tools, they can create better learning environments just like in Finland.
