A few months ago, I visited Guano, a small but charming town located in the Chimborazo province of Ecuador. It is known for its history, handcrafted shoe production, and an old church that was partially destroyed by the 1949 earthquake. During my visit, I walked through the historic center, visited the museum where a famous mummy is kept, and bought shoes directly from local workshops—they are high quality and affordable. I also enjoyed the traditional food, especially the hornado. Guano is a peaceful destination, perfect for learning more about the Ecuadorian highland culture, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a picturesque, budget-friendly, and historically rich place.
