My trip to Guaranda, in the province of Bolívar, was an experience steeped in culture, tradition, and Andean landscapes. This city, surrounded by mountains and known as the “City of the Seven Hills,” surprised me with its colonial charm and peaceful atmosphere. I strolled through its historic center, visited the imposing cathedral, and enjoyed the friendliness of its people. I was fortunate enough to try the famous Pájaro Azul (Blue Bird) and sample the delicious artisanal cheeses and chocolates from Salinas de Guaranda. I also visited Lake Las Cochas, where I was able to relax in a beautiful natural setting. What impressed me most was how the city preserves its customs alive, especially during Carnival, full of music, colors, and joy. Guaranda is a place that blends identity, tradition, and nature, and I would definitely return to continue discovering more of its cultural richness.
