Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. In children, it can present with various symptoms, including convulsions and autonomic disturbances. Self-limited epilepsy with autonomic seizures (SeLEAS), or Panayiotopoulos syndrome, is a common type of epilepsy in young children, typically presenting with symptoms like vomiting, nausea, and changes in heart rate, often during sleep.
