In my opinion, Finnish education is an example to follow because it's based on trust, respect for each student's individual pace, and a teaching approach that seeks to develop happy people, not just good grades. There, students have more freedom to decide how to learn, actively participate in class, and aren't pressured by so many tests or homework. Furthermore, classes are shorter, they have more breaks, and teachers are highly trained, which makes the school environment healthier and more motivating. Group work is also highly valued, and teaching is done through experience, not just textbooks. If I could change one thing about Ecuador's education system, I would start by giving students more of a voice, allowing them to participate in classroom decision-making, choosing topics, suggesting activities, or different ways of learning. I believe this would make us feel more motivated and heard, and make learning more interesting, useful, and connected to real life.
