Good comment Evelyn I liked that you used simple examples to explain each test. Pearson correlation and Spearman's rho are mostly useful for qualitative data while the chi-square test is qualitative. Each of these is necessary depending on the needs of the researcher. For example, Pearson's correlation uses linear data, Spearman's rho is necessary in the case of abnormalities and chi-square is useful for identifying relationships.
