The use of different statistical tests is important to get reliable conclusions. For example, Pearson is used when both variables are quantitative; interval or ratio level, and the data has a normal distribution. This test measures the strength and direction of a linear relationship between two variables. On the other hand, Spearman’s rho is a non- parametric test used when the data is ordinal or does not have a normal distribution. It measures monotonic relationships, which means it can detect if one variable increase or decreases when the other one changes, even if the relationship is not linear. Finally, the Chi-square test of independence is used when both variables are categorical, (nominal, or ordinal9. It helps to identify if there is a significant association between variables. Choosing the correct test means checking the types of data and if the normality assumption is met. This helps to get valid results and make good conclusions.
