For me, when I want to prepare for Speaking Task 4, I focus on understanding the structure of the lecture and how the examples support the main concept. I listen carefully for the definition of the term or concept and pay attention to the examples the professor gives. During the lecture, I take brief notes using keywords to save time. In my response, I begin with a clear introduction like “The lecture explains the concept of...” and then describe each example using phrases such as “For example, the teacher or (man or woman) mentions...” or “This supports the idea that...”. I always try to connect the examples to the main idea to show how they illustrate the topic. Since there are only 20 seconds to prepare, I quickly organize my ideas into an introduction, examples, and a short conclusion. While speaking, I aim to be clear, concise, and stay within the 60-second time limit.
