I still remember how excited I felt when I saw a job opening to teach English at a school. It sounded perfect because I love English and I love teaching. I’d been looking for something like that for a while. So, I applied and a few days later, I got a call for the interview.
Then, everything went fast. I had interviews, exams, and I gave them all my documents. I passed everything and they told me I was one of the best candidates. “You’re basically in,” one of the staff said. I was really happy. They gave me a schedule and told me my contract was coming soon.
But after a short time, I got another call. “Sorry,” they said, “we can’t give you the job because someone else has a third level degree.” I couldn’t believe it. I had done everything. I’d been preparing documents, spending money and time, and getting excited for nothing. It felt like being ready for a trip, suitcase in hand, and the plane takes off without you.
Some time later, I tried to move on. It was a bad experience, but I learned from it. Maybe in the future I’ll get a better job. And next time, I’ll try not to get too excited too soon.
Maybe it just wasn’t my time. But I learned something important: sometimes, things don’t go as planned, and that’s okay. Has something similar ever happened to you? Life teaches us in unexpected ways.
